Name Homework

What:
Names are important words! Please talk with your child about how he or she was named. Help your child write down the story and illustrate it. You can send a photo back with the name story--we will return it.

Why:
Names are important. Knowing and using each others' names is respectful and helps build community. Sharing family stories is a great way to connect and treasure family history.

When:

Welcome Back to School!

Hello and welcome!

Daily Homework

What:
Before students leave school each day, they will write a letter to a family member.
At home, they will share their letter. Please write back! They must return the letter from you the next day. We will keep the letters in a notebook that goes back and forth.
Why: This helps us all communicate about learning and gives students real life reading and writing practice. It also makes a nice record of the year for families to keep at the end.
When: Every day, Monday through Friday.
